In spite of the inclemency of the weather there was a large audience at the last monthly meeting of St. James' Band of Hop?, Pukekohe, held in the Oddfellows' Fall. After the opening exercise an interesting programme was submitted, in which Mesrss Jones, Searff and Fyfe tcok part, the two former being heard with pleasure in their songs, while Mr Fyfe delighted the audience with a humorous Scotch recitation. The chairman, Kev. S. Nixon, gave an interesting and instructive address on the effects of alcohol upon the human system, especially upon the five senses. The rest of the programme consisted of children's items, the performers acquitting themselves most creditably.
