MAUNGATAWHIRI ROAD BOARD The ordinary meeting of the Maungatnwhiri Road Board was held at the board's office, Razorbaek, on Saturday, July sth. Members present—Messrs J. G. Rutherford (chairman), H. The Beard decided to suggest the Station road, and Proude's or Pukekohe road, a*? these two roads had the moat traffic on them. The clerk was instructed to notify Mr Lyons accordingly. EARLY POTATOES. A much larger acreage of early potatoes has already be:n planted in this district. Advantage was taken during the fine bpell in June. FOOTBALL. The senior football team played Wairoa seniors on Saturday, at Papakura, and lost 15 points to 8. For Wairca A. Dow, W. Alexander, R. Munro, and H. Thoma9 scored tries, and G. Dow converted one. For Bombay A. Cornthwaite scored two tries and converted on?.

The juniors played Papakura juniors ai:d won by 9 points to 3. joe Lee scored two trirs ard R. Shanahan kicked a goal from a penalty kirk. Papakura scored a try. Mr Gallagher was referee for the seniors, and Mr H. McCormick for the juniors.
