BUCKLAND AND SONS. On Friday, July 4th, at Waiuku,. He held a special sale of HJr Arthur' Bregman's dairy cows. 'lhere was a large attendance, and competition was keen, the sale being one of the mast successful we have held in the district. The pick of the cows made from £ls to £lB 15s; others £lO 10s to £l4; aged cows, £6 10s to £9. The whola dairy of 40 cots averaged £ll 9a 6d; heifers, to calve in th 3 spring, £6 to £7 10a; small in-calf heifers, £3 19s to £5 ss; fatm maie, £35.
We held our usual monthly sale in the Waiuku yards on Saturday, July bth. There was a large yarding of dairy stock, including Mr Wm. Watts's dairy herd; store cattle were scanty, and were firmer in price. Best dairy cows brought from £9 10s to £l2; ordinary sorts, £6 10s to £9; aged and inferior, £3 10s to £5 ss; empty cows, £2 17s 6d to £4 3s; smalLfat etaers, £9: fat cows, £5 to £7 12s Gd; calves to yearlings, £1 15s to £2 15s; other calves, £1 5s to £1 13s.
On Thursday at Mr W. McNally's, Pukekohe, the dairy cows sold at from £ll 7s 6d to £l6 for best, others £5 to £8 ss, averaging over £10; yearling heifers, £3 In; farm geldirg, £lB 10s.
On Saturday, at Mr A. Innes's, Buckland, there was a large attendance ot buyers Ihe dairy cows and hcii'ers realised fiom £7 5s to £ll 7s 6d for best, others £4 15s to £6 15s; yearling to 18 months heifer*, £2 10s to £3 10s; farm gelding, £l9; fowls, la 5d to 3s 3d; pigs, sows with litters £6 15s to £7 JOs, sows in pig £2 7s 6d to £4 15s. AUfcNCY CO At Pukekohe yards on Monday we held a special dairy cow sal.'. The advertised number came forward, aid the bidding was not as keen as late sales, but a good clearance was made at ruling rates, Best cows and heifers, close ti profit, sold at from £8 to £ll 10s; calved cows and heifers, £5 to £9 10s; September and October calveis, £4 to £7 10s; aged and inferior cows, £2 to £3 15s; cows due to calve in August £5 to £S 10s.
On Tuesday, at Pukekohe yards, we held our monthly sale. There was' n smaller yarding than usual, and with the exception nf a few pens, Everything was sold under the hammer. Two to two and a-half year old steers sold at from £4 14s to £5 13j lid; yearling to eighteenmonths sieers, £3 5* to £4 ss; good steer calve?, Cos to £2 12s; others, 253 to 3os; heifer calves, 21s to £2 ss; empty cow?, £>> 15 8 to £4 4s; bull?, £2 10s tj £3 15a. A good yarding of beef sold at fully West-lie-Id rates.
