RUGBY UNION NOTES,
At a meeting of the Pukekoha Rugby Union held cn Saturday i night a letter was received from ! the Auckland Union re insurance of I players. After a lot of discussion ! it was decided that each player te given the privilege of insuring hims.lf against accident during the course of each match. The Pukekohe Union have decided to enter a team for the Country Week competitions which takes place in Auckland at an early date. With reference to the above the Auckland Rugby Union wrote staling that they would allow £5 towards the exptrses of tha team. On the prospects of securing the use of the ground itcently purchased by the Pukekohe Borough Council, a "working bee" has btea formed by tne local Union for the purpose of pegging out the boundaries and to fix up the ground far next Saturday. By so doing it is toped to have two matches played in Pukekohe each Saturday.
While playing in the match Mauku v. Suburbs on Saturday J. Wallen, Suburbs' full-back, bioke a bone in his right wrist. W. Bilkey, of Pukekohe, who has been playing with the University Club in Auckland this season, has neen picked to go to Sydney with the New Zealand University team.
