♦ HE Quarterly Meeting. The quarterly me-ting of the Franklin Methodist Circuit was held in Pukekohe on Wednesday. Apiil 2nd, Rev. E. P. Blamires presiding, Twenty official were present, representing Pukekihe, Waiuku, Buckland, Tuakau, Bombay, Mauku, Ofaua and Glenbrook. An increase of 7 in the Church membership was reported, and the -:$ financial statement was of an encouracing nature. Receipts for the I quarter £152 12s 4d, expenditure £146 6s Id, credit balance £6 6a ■•; The meeting derided to ask the ...'■s Home Mission Executive in Auckland to appoint Mr Ashton Fitchett as ■•) minister at Tuakau. Mr Fitchett, ' S having a good record of missionary work in South Africa, is commended to the peuple of Tuakau and surrounding district. Rev. A. Laybourn was absent on sick leave, but the meitiing learned with pleasure that he is making go 4& progrtss. '?*: The sympathy of the Church wai expressed with the relatives of the late Mrs Howard. Considerable time was devoted to public questions. The following resoluticns were unanimously carried: "That tuis meeting urges all our people to co-operate in the New Zealand Alliance campaign for I , democratic vute." "That thi-t quarterly meeting pledges the Methodist Church in the Franklin Circuit to support the movement for securing the Bible-in-Schools."
