WELL EARNT REWARD.
We were gl id to hj» able to r port on FrH ,y th t th' Pukekohe Borough Council md deci ied to in te w; go ; o' >ts wst-r-w rks engineer (vir Wyat) and of its foreman of work? (VI r Clews). During their leriods of eigagem2nt here both officers have bee < unsparing of them >t Ives in their service to tha btirr.Uih. And, mo e:iv r, they have at all lirms endeavour.d to carry out the instruction of fhe Council. Sometimes borough council! do not realise that it is upon the heads of the working divisions that they must .ely i i order to get the bast value for the ratepayers' money that is spent. On the roads, and in such enterpiisei as the water-works, a g eat de 1 of money might easily b: 1 wasted incompetent supervision. Ju ging by their record in Puktkohe to date we feel assured that the duties of neither Mesus Clews ior Wyatt cease when the clock strikes five, and that both of thrm sp nd mucn of their own time in planning lor the morrow in order that the municipal wheels may tun smoothly. Under these circumstances we feel tnat it ; s only right to give puolic acknowl.dgment of their good work.
