MAGISTRATE'S COURT. (Before Mr F. V. Fraser, S.to.) DEBT CASES. Judgment with costs was given by default in the followiig cases:— Valentine and Co. v. Rirga Thompson, claim £5 ss; Valantine and Co v Donaldson and Taylor, claim £4 Is 4d. JUDGMENT SUMMONS. Palbam and Begbie, of Taniwha, v. Donald McKenzie, was a claim for £45 3s Ud against judgment f debtor. ■ Judgment debtor said the cofrect K. amount owing w*s £3l, tut the iMpgistrate replied that he was bound the judgment of the previas c rrect. Defendant 4 said he had been cutting cocksfoot 0 seed since judgment was given againat bim; he had about eight bags as his share, and be thought the seed might now be worth £1 7s a bag. "What have you been living oi?" asked the solicitor. "Food," was the answer. "Got any money saved up?"— ."None; wouldn't be here if I had." "Married?'' asked the Magis'rate. It was elicited that defendant had a wife and five childrep. No order was made. MAUKU. FARMERS' UNION SPORTS. Id connection with the Farmers' Union Sports' and picnic, which ate to be held fe Ml W. This branch of the Farmers' Union is now a very strong one and runs its affairs i n a real up-to-date manner. •
