OTAUA DRAINAGE BOARD.
Monthly Meeting. The monthly meeting.of the Otaua Drainage Board was held in the hall on Monday, Fehruary 17th; presentMr W. L. West (chairman), Messrs R. Hull, H. O. Mellsop, F. Deed, W. Wright and the ClerK. The principal business of the meeting was considering tenders for cleaning drains and paying accounts for work done in the Otaua creek. Priest's gang have just finished the creek from end to end, snd have made a very satisfactory job of it at a cost of £46 16s. Below the pig landing cost £23 5s 6d, and above it £ 3 10s 4d. A circular was read from the Aka Aka Drainage Board, asking for the views of the Board on the question of ratirg on the acre (where so desired) for drainage purposes. The clerk was instructed to reply, stating that the Otaua Board is entirely in accurd with the idea, and hopes to see a clause inserted in the present Act effecting the desired change.
