Ode of Appreciation. In Auckland the other day the anniversary ot the arrival of the ships Devonshire and Gertrude, fifty years ago, was celebrated. An odi: was written for the occasion, and as the sentiments are applicable to our own especial pioneers, about whom articles have been appearing in the "Times" Intely, we reprint it:— Greetings to those who, fifty years ygo, Entered this haven of a favoured clime; Keachir.g the bind which they desired to know, Therein to dwell for all earthly Resolved in this r.ew realm to cast their lot, Unshaken by disturbing doubts and fe-irs; Doing their duly, and repining not E'm when their joys were widened by their tears.
