To th<> last meeting of the Auckland Harbour Board, Che Herald reports, the Marine Department wrote that under the Franklin and Manakau Counties Act, 1911, what was formerly Manakau County, has become, fur purposes of Harbour Board election, a combined district. The Otahuhu Borough Council had aSkfd to be appointed the principal authority ior the election; and the Department asked for the Board's recommendation. It was decided to recommend that Otahuhu Borough Council, being the only borough council in the district, should be constituted the principal authority in the electorate." What about Puke kohe'.' it may be news to the Auckland Harbour Board, and to the Herald, that I'ukekohe Borough Council is an older borough than is Otahuhu.
