John Wanamaker, (he famous American store proprietor, with perhaps the biggest retail business in the world, reckons that to cease advertising \a to practically cease business. He says, though: 'To make a success of advertising one must be prepared to stick lo it like a barnacle to a ship's bottom,. .... Advertising doesn't jerk; it pulls; but the pull is steady; it increases day by day and year by year until tttxertsan irresistible power."
