METHODIST CHURCH.
Quarterly Meeting. The Franklin circuit quarterly meeting was held at Pukekohe on Wednesday -last The Rev. E. P. Blamires presided, and in addition to the Pukekohe office-bearers there were present representatives from Waiuku, Bombay, Rama Rama and Hauku. The chairman extended a welcome to Mr H. J. Odell, student from the Theological College, who during the summer vacation vill assist in the work of the Franklin circuit. I'he enroll: d membership of the church was reported at 186. The expenditure for the quarter was £136 10a 3d, the income was a few pounds below this amount. Harvest thank-givirg services are to be held throughout the circuit at the end of February, and in March Sunday School anniversaries at Pukekohe, Bocklani and Tuakau. In response to various requests for additional services, new preaching places will appear In the ensuing quarter's plan—viz, Waipipi, Aranmu and "Carlton," Pukekohe West Mesirs James Shaw (Aranmu), and W. H. Allen (Kama Kama) were received as felly srredited local preachers. Messrs T. G. Usher and J. Pilkineton we*e elected Circuit stewards for 1913 In view of the approaching conference, tj open in Wellington on February 6th, Mr John Williams was elected as the representative of the circuit; and Lieutenant Colonel Schofield as substitute-representa-tive. Captain Sawyer, of the Salvation Army, was given an opportunity to enlist the practical sympathy of the members on behalf of the institution which the Salvation Army proposes to erect as a memorial to the late General Booth. Through the kindneai of Mrs Usher, afternoon tea was provided ai the conclusion of the meeting.
