On January 2nd Messrs Wesley Barriball and Richard James attended the post office a:.d made a "silver presentation" to Mr David Lawton, in rcognition of the many obligements the setlers have received from him since he has had charge of the postal work. On Thursday a breakdown occurred in the creamery, the super-heater going wrorg. As th<s accident happened before any milk had been received, the suppliers all made for the Mauku creamery, where their milk was received. Mr Osbourne immediately set about effecting repans and all was ready for next morning's run.
