THE Pukekohe and Waiuku Times PUBLISHED TUESDAYS AND FRIDAYS. TUESDAY, DECEMBERS 24, 1912. "We nothing extenuate, nor set down aught in malice." GREETINGS

In childhood the Chri>tmas>s appear at grout distances ; in maturer years they seem to chase upon each other's heels. Once again the season is with us—the season of feasting', of forgiveness and of fresh resolves. In a country like New Zealand, and in a district such as this, Christmas is not so distinguished as a lime for feasting and merry-making as it is in older and more populous communities which have a lnrgir proportion of their people constantly on the, rack to make em's meet. In New Zealand the great hulk of the people live in comparative luxury every week in the year so that from the view-point of additional table pleasures we cannot so keenly ielish the bounties of Chiistmas time. But for that veiy reason it should he a matter for especial gratitude at this season that the people enjoy such plenty all the ye,jr round. Just now circumstances all speak of prosperity. The harvested crops have iiecn bountiful and those that remain are full of promise. .Since the living

conditions aiv so smiling we may all welcome this Christum wi h glad and gn.M'ul hearts. It is the season, ton, of good wishes, and in siijjplo, time-hononre 1 w.»rdi and in all sincerity, we heartily wish our readers A MERRY CHRISTMAS. FIRST PAGE. The Waipipi District ; being an investigation of an interesting locality by our travelling representative. Pukekohe School Picnic. FOURTH PAGE. At the Borough Council.
