GRANTS AND SUBSIDIES.
Ox page 1 of this issue there is a report of a discussion, which took place at Thursday's meeting of the Franklin County Council, which particularly concerns practically every Road Board in the Franklin County a-ea. The question whether the Road Boards can avail themselves of the subsidies that were placed on the Estimates is a very important one, and if the County Council can enable the Road Boards to do so it will have done something more to justify the first year of its existence.
