A HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY.
o.\ Sati'kh.vv we were shown two bowls of lo.vr-. They were grown in Pukekoho under most ordinal", conditions, after an expenditure 1 f only ordinary care. The blooms made a splen lid showing in colouring and Win, with exquisite perfume. The flowers naturally suggested the establishment of a horticulture! society for Pukekohe. At Kami Kama excellent wo;k is done by the enthu-iists there and a society in Pukekohe need in no way be regarded as a rival organisation. So far as the production of beautiful blooms are concerned there is no doubt about the capability of our soil and climate, and there is no reason at all why a really show should not. bfl held. We understand that tho matter of forming such a society has been considered by a few lovers of gardens and wo should very much like to seo it instituted.
