CRICKET.
Pukekohe v. Arawa. The cricket season in Pukekohe was opened on Monday when a match be'.ween the local team and the Arawa Club, from Auckland, was played, the visitors wiuning by the comfortable margin of 46 runs in the first innings. Kemp and Duncan Eoulston were the only batsmen to secure double figures, all the batsmen showing absence of practice. The t-low break bowlers, Haresnape and Stevens, met with the most success, the latter taking 5 wickets for 9 runs. The visitors made 105. Baker 35, Lepine 18, Dadley 15 and Coleman 12 being the principal scorers. Brown was the most successful bowler for Pukekohe. In a second venture Pukekohe made 61. for 9 wickets, Kemp 13, Dave Koulston 12, Brown 11, being the double figure scorers. The visitors were entertained at lunch at the Pukekohe Hotel. Our Mauku correspondent writes: " The annual meeting of the above Association was held in the Mauku Hotel on Saturday evening, 26th inst, when tbo following delegates attended :—Messrs F. Brown and J. F. Deane (Pukekohe), E. Osborne and J. Barriball (Waiuku), J. B. Goldsworthy and E. C. Cuff (Mauku) and H. Tooman (Drury). The balance sheet showed a credit balanco of £3 15s 3d. The following officers were elocted for the ensuing year : —Patron, Mr VV. H. Warin; president, Mr E, C. Cuff; vice-presidents, Messrs J. Goldsworthy, J. Eoulston, J. Keith and Dr Howden, secretary and treasurer, Mr W. Finlay; committee to consist of two delegates from leach affiliated club. It was resolved that throe rounds of matches bo played, the first to commence on November 9th, second on December 7th, third to be arranged later. Grounds on which matches are to be played to be arranged by mutual consent between the clubs concerned. The result of the draw is as follows.— First Round. November 9th: Waiuku v. Pukekohe, at Waiuku; Drury v. Mauku, at x Drury. November 16th: Mauku .v. Waiuku, at Mauku; Drury v. Pukekohe, at Drury. November 23rd: Pukekohe v. Mauku, at Pukekohe ; Drury v. Waiuku, at Drury. Second Round. December 7th : Pukekohe v, Waiuku, at Pukekohe ; Mauku v. Drury, .at Mauku. December 14th : Waiuku v. Mauku, at Waiuku; Pukekohe v. Drury, at Pukekohe. December 21st: Mauku v. Pukekohe, at Mauku; Waiuku v. Drury, at Waiuku. Several representative matches are to bo arranged for the New Yeur aud Christmas holidays.
