KARAKA ROAD BOARD.

Monthly Meeting. The monthly mooting of the I Karaka Road Board was held on Saturday; present— Messrs J. Batty ! (chairman), G Swann, R. Glasson, W. Johnston and G. Sutton. I Kiukwood's Road. Mr Swann : There you are. You ! would not go to the expense the j other day. Mr Swann wanted to know if the j loan money was available. I The Chairman said that the last advice he had had was that the £OOOO would be available. He had never received any information to the contrary. There was considerable discussion regarding the work on the roads and the terms to be arranged with Mr Gannon and finally a resolution was carried asking Air Gannon to attend a special mi iting of the Board to bo called by the chairman at which the whole question of the loan expenditure will be gone into and Mr Gannon's tonus considered. Mr Johnston: Has the application for the loan gone in ? The Chairman : Yes. On the 11th. Mr Johnston : Have you had any | reply? The 1 Chahiiian : No, not yet. The Chairman stated that he had taken Mr Gannon over Casey'sJamicson's Road to inspect the quarry site.
