Recently an application for insurance business came before tho Franklin County Council. A councillor said that there was another Company which ought to be considered. He referred to the South British. Cr. Flanagan said that the South British was the first Company to bring down tho rato for insurance on farm labourers and all tho other Companies had to follow suit. Crs. Wilcox and Fulton both spoke in glowing terms of tho value of the South British to farmers- They pointed out that it was a local Auckland institution and the profits were kept m the Dominion.
