THE LOAN PROPOSALS.

L_ Road and Water Loans Sewerage Loan Rejected. The most striking feature of tho poll taken on Monday on the proposed loans for tho borough of Pukekohe was the smallnoss of the vote. In tho Town Board area out of 265 ratepayers on the roll only 100 voted. Over the whole borough only 145 out of the 414 on tho roll rocordod their votes—very littlo more than a third. The road and water proposals were carried by big majorities and tho sewerage proposal was definitely rejected. The voting was :

No. 1 proposal, £8,300 for roads, etc.: For 90, against 47, informal 1. Carried. No. 2 proposal, £5,800 for completion and extension of waterworks: For. 86, against 13, informal 1. Carried. No. 3 proposal, £IO,OOO for drainage : For 31, against 6G, informal 3. Lost. No. 4 proposal, £1750 to replaco unspent loan allocations: For 70, against 26, informal 4. Carried.
