" We nothing extenuate, nor set down aught in malice."

The announcement mado in the House by the Prime Minister (Hon. W. F. | Massoy) that it hail been decided to j erect a new railway station at Pukoj kolio instead of renovating the old one | was very cordially welcomed by tlio i people here. As already reported tlio J Mayor of Pukekohe (Mr W. Dunn) j wrote to Mr ,Massey about tlio matter and forwarded the resolutions of protest (ugaimt shifting the old station) | which were passed at a public meeting | here. Mr Massey's reply was : "Immediately on receipt of your ' letter I took the opportunity of coni ferring with my colleague, the Hon. I the Minister for Railways, who has i just informed me that it has been dc- ! cided to erect a new railway station I building for Pukekohe. This infori mation, I am; lire, will be satisfactory ! to the townspeople. I may say that j lam asking that the new building be j erected as close to the old stat'on as | practicable." It is gratifying to be able to record that the Prime Minister and his colleagues have taken the sound vimv of tlio situation. An up-to-date station, eivcte-l as near to tlio old site us practicable, will enable the incioasing trallic at this station to bo properly handled, will add considerably to the comfoit and convenience of passengi rs, and will still turlher enhance the growing importance of Pukekohe. For his ready an 1 proper decision in this matter Mr Massey will receive the heartiest thauks of his constituents.
