The Puni Creamery.

To the Editok. Sir, —May .[ through your columns draw the attention of the directors of the N. Z. Dairy Assu. to the very unfair way in which the milk suppliers of Puni, and also of their creamery manager, havo been treated. The Puni creamery is an old-established one working, I think, about 18 or 20 years. I have been a supplier for 14 years myself. For the first 60r7 of these 14 years we got no quantity bonu«. our creamery being kept back by the largest suppliers going to Pukekoho and other creameries to get the quantity bonus there. Mr Spragg made a promise to out manager (Mr Pollock) a few years ago that if he and the suppliers worked the creamery up to a fair-sized one ho (Mr Spragg) would build a cottage for Mr Pollock at the creamery. \Ve havo struggled ! gamely up tlio hill. Last season wo got five-eighths of a penny quantity bonus, and no doubt this season would bo a record for Puni as we have some now suppliers while others have increased their hords and three new milking machines have been installed in our district. When we asked again for the cottage at Puni, Mr Pacey told us that our directors thought it bad policy to erect ono and the manager would bo shifted to a creamery whero thoro was a cottago. Our manager naturally thought ho was being treated unfairly, after being a faithful servant and being in the Puni croamory for 11 years. On Saturday last Mr Pacey said the reason the cottage was not built was that ho had heard the milksuppliers of Puui wero going in for homo separation (to supply Goodfellows) —which is not correct. On behalf of the ratepayers I explained to Mr Pacey that if lie had lost faith in us as shareholders and suppliers wo wore agreeable to bind ourselves to supply Puni creamery for any number of years the directors thought fair, and to pay interest, say <> per cent, out of our own pockets, on the cost of the cottage for the same period. We appeal to the directors for a fair hearing—which we are ceitain we have not gOj. Failing this our I'uni creamery doomed Yours, etc., 11. FULTON, A Lover of Fair Play.
