BENEDICTS' BALL
Held at Waiuku. A most enjoyable bull (to which •eference was made in our last issue) A-as given in the Tlall by the benedicts A the district. The committeo deserve great credit for their efforts to promote the enjoyment of thoir guests. the duties of M.'sC. wore ably carried out by Messrs T. Hair and S. V. Barriball. The ballroom was decorat. d with tiikau palms aud festooned with light bush greenery, and the ladies who helped with the supper arrangenionts are to be praised for their artistic table decorations. Although the weather was rather disappointing, a large number of guests were present and all spent a very pleasant evening, the music and floor being all that could be desired. Among those present were:—Mrs (Dr) Howden, wearing a boautiful gown of brown velvet, trimmings to
match and cream laco yoko ; Mrs C. Motion wore a pretty toilotto of groy, veiled with ninou ; Mrs Garland looked stylish in groy charmeuse; Mrs Barnaby, cream colione with silk fringe ; Mrs V. Barriball, cream silk with overdress of ninon ; Mrs E. Barriball, shell-pink satin with sequins; Mrs Cromwell, cream orioutal satin ; Mrs 11. Webster, cream satin covered with beautiful black lace ; Mrs Shakespear, dainty gown of cream satin and violot spray; Mrs Horald, tfreen velvet ; Mrs Makgill, blue taffeta ; Mrs Moffitt, bluo dross with black girdle; Mrs Keid, croara dross with a lovely vieux rose coat; Mrs Lowe looked
charming in blue covered with dowdrop not: Miss Brown, white figured silk with lace trimmings , MissCurrie, cream mcrv silk ; Miss Coffey (Whangarei), white silk; Miss Rossiter, pretty gown of cream satin; Miss Harris, cream relieved with black; Miss Jeffries, heliotrope voile; Miss Woodwood, white figured net ovor green ; Miss May, cream silk voile; Miss Bright, green voilo with black girdle; Mrs JLittle (Auckland) cream silk with sequined trimming; Miss Bodley (Morrinsville), pretty cream silk finished with lace; Miss 1). Barriball, cream frock with lace insortion ; Miss Walters (Pupakura), white muslin, with crossover bodice and spray of violets; Missßarriball, embroidered white muslin ; Miss 0. Burribail, very pretty tlowered muslin ; Misses Hamilton, uncommon shades of pink silk, with uinon ovorskirts and rosettes in their hair; Miss Johnson, cream serge , Miss Curran, white silk with pretty stripe; Miss Sharpies, grey: Miss Williamson, pretty gown of croam satin ; Miss Parish, blue charmeuse. Also there were many others worthy of note, but opportunity did not permit of description.
