A LOST SLIPPER.
Cr. Berriman's Grievance.
Or Berriman had a grievance at Wednesday night's Council meeting. Several times he tried tu air it, but without success. Finally, just as discussion over the suggested loan was concluding, he saw his opportunity and grasped it. He complained that a lady had lost her slipper or golosh in the mud at Penman's crossing. The Mayor : That's nothing to do with the loan proposals. Cr Berriman : No, but if I don't get it now, I'll never get it. The Mayor: But the Works Committee have this in hand. Cr Hamilton: The Works Com-' niittee have jassul it. Cr Berriman: Yes, but they don't do anything. They git me'al by the truck, but they won't put any on this crossing. The Mayor : Well, pass a vote of censure on tliern. Cr Berriman : I will. I move that they be relieved of their duties. Lhorus <»f Works Committee: " Hurrah!" Members of the Works Committee seconded the resolution, which was put " and lost on the voices."
