PATUMAHOE.

This progressive little township is pushing rapidly ahead. Building sections are now being sold and several new houses are in course of erection. Mr W. Thomas has bought a valuable section from Mr J. Henry and intends building a modern residence. Mrs Runciman is having a large and effective alteration made to her residence and Mr Cantlin is building an up-to-date and imposing house on the top of the famous Patumahoe Hill. The business people report a large increase of trade lately and as soon as the creamery gets going again the prospects will be distinctly encouraging. I understand the main road to Waiau is ii very bad state and in places impossible, the traffic in the meantime being diverted through Mr McLaren's property. It is intended to connect Patumahoe and Waiau by Telephone, trustees having been appointed to see the work is carried out at once.
