' Techuical School at Pukekohe is to bo officially opened at 2.30 o'clock on July 1 th. Mr Garland, Chairman of the Education Board, will open the school, Mr George George and Mr Mulgiin will explain the objects of the Manual 'framing and Rtival Instruction. If possible, Mr Massey will speak congratulating Pukekohe upon becoming a Borough, to which the Mayor (Mr Win, Dunn) will reply. The Mayor will then offer the congratulations of the public to the 1 County Council of Franklin, to which the newly eh ctod Chairman of the Council will be asked to reply. Afternoon tea will be dispensed and a collection will be taken up for the Improvement Fund. The function will be quite an important one and a : big attendance is expected. Tho question of advoi.ising for road metal came up at Saturday's mooting of tho Waiuku Road Board. " There are very few people now who don't see tin; local paper," said Mr Higgiuson, "and I think wo should support local industry." '• T think so. too," said Mr Hull.
