FRANKLIN COUNTY. Election Notice. NOTICE is hereby given that a proclamation of His Excellency the Governor and published in the New Zealand Gazette of May 30th, 1912, has been received, directing that an election shall be held on SATURDAY, j June 22nd, 1912, to elect Nine Councillors for the Franklin County and in accordance with the said order, J and the provisions of tho Counties j Act, 1908, Local Election and Polls j Act, 1908, and their ' aiuendim nts, an oieetion will he held to elect Nine Councillors for the said County; in the proportions Fet forth in the schedule hereto. And I give further notice that having been appointed returning officer by His Excellency the Governor, Nominations for the office of Cour.cillois will be received by me up to 12 o'clock noon of Saturday, June 15rh, 1912, at my office, King-street, Pukekohe. The following is the schedule referred to abovo and shows what parts of the county are included in tho several ridings. Pukekohe Riding Comprising the Pukekohe East Road District and the Pukekohe West Road Distict.—(Two Councillors). Waiuku Riding Comprising the Waiuku Road District—(One Councillor). Awhiti; Riding The Awhitu Road District, Pollock Road District, and Nos. 4 and 5 divisions of Waipipi Road District. — (One Councillor). Waipipi Riding Nos. 1, 2 and 3, Subdivision of Waipipi Road District. (One Councillor). Mauku Riding The Mauku Rotd District and Karaka Road District. (One Councillor). Mercer Riding Maungatawhiri Road District, Mercer Road District and Pokeno Road District.—(One Councillor). Drury Riding Drury Road District, Opaheke Road District and Paparata Road District.—(One Councillor). Hunua Riding Hunua Road District and Maungatawhiri outlying.—(One Councillor). Should the number of nominations received for tho several ridings bo in excess of the seats vacant in the said riding an election will be held on SATURDAY, Juno 22nd, 1912, between the hours of 9 a.m. and 6 J. It is my intontion to offer myself as a candidate for Councillor at the forthcoming Elections which takes place on June 22nd, at the usual polling booths. Thtmas has consented to become a candidate for this riding of tho Franklin County Council, I would bo pleased if you could see your way clear to publish a few facts in regard to Mr Thomas' public life. Mr Thomas was for twelve years a member of the Cambridge Road Board, nine years a member of the Waikato County Council, six years on the Waikato Hospital Board, seven years on the Pakuranga Road Board, and two years Chairman Hautapu Drainage Board, and is now Chairman of the Paparata Road Board and President of the Bombay Branch of the Farmors' Union.
