CHAMBER OF COMMERCE
Begins Active Work. At the second meeting of the Pnkekohe Chamber of Commerce there were 35 present. Mr R. F. Webster, the original convener of the tfhfcaber, was in the chair. Mr B. H. Andrew, secretary of the Enquiry Committee, reported satisfactory replies from a number of Chambers, showing the good work done in other centres. He read the rules of the Waitemata Chamber, which appeared to bo the most applicable to this ' district, and which the Committee had decided to recommend. All present agreed to become members and after some amendments the proposed rules were adopted. Officers wore elected as follows: President, Mr R. F. Webster, VicePresidents, Messrs A. B. Barter (who retire! from nomination as President in favour of Mr Webster), and H. Dell; treasurer, Mr, Hunter; auditor, Mr Grant : secretary, Mr B. Andrew ; com mitt.ee, Messrs Townson, Perkins, Grigor, Jackson, Hurley and Patterson. The Committee met subsequently and entered enthusiastically upon their work. Matters connected with additional police services required, the ne> i for a produce grader in Pukekoii", and similar affairs were discussed ;ind action decided upon.
