The residents are delighted at the immediate prospect of more frequent . trains to and from Auckland. The Cleveudon Lawn Tennis Association chimpionship singles were played off on the 20th. Mies Kimpton, of Brook by, won the ladies [ and Mr David Bryan, the Clerondon . Club secretary, won the men's open singles. The meeting was largely ' attended and one cannot help thinking how advisable it would be to make a small charge for entrance. The supply of free refreshments to such a number must be a serious item and < there is little doubt that those ing toe afternoon would have been ouly too willing to help in this way i towards the expenses of the club. > Mr E. Papakura is to be the centre and a successful season is anticipated.
