Aka Aka Plains. | I am glad to report a record season for this prosperous little districtsplendid showers, abundance of feed throughout the season, and all cattle in splendid condition. The report from our creamery manager (Mr H. Adams) is very satisfactoiy, and as the supply has not decreased to any great extent he will, in probability, run right through the winter. On Tuesday, 16th, a meeting was held of the Committee in charge of the opening of the new hall. Accounts were passed for payment, leaving a credit balance of about £25, a very satisfactory return. On Friday uight a public meeting was also held in the hall to elect a Management Committee for the ensuiug year. Messrs W. Lauder, H. Jollie, E. Hudson, J. Muir and 0. Henrv were elected. Otaua. Mr Mark Deed has sold his farm at a satisfactory figure and will dispose of his splendid herd at an early date. i Bombay. j Capt. Colbeck and Mr. A. Schmitt, j of the Farmers' Union, paid us a visit on Wednesday last, and gave an , address on «• Farmers and Strikes, j The speakers received a good hearing and a vote of thanks for their ad- j A pretty wedding eventuated at St. • Peter's on the 15th inst, when Miss Ethel Shanaha!i was married to Mr. F Lowry, both well known residents of Bombay. The bride who was given , away by her brother (Mr W. Shanahan, of Wellington), was attired in white silk veil and orange blossoms ! and carried a pretty shower bouquet. ; Misses M. and E. Shanahan attended j as bridesmaids in pretty cream dresses | and black hats, and carrying heliotrope bouquets. Mr D. Cornthwaite acted as J groomsman Kevs. T. Fisher and; Dobson were the officiating clergymen. A sacred concert was held in St. | Peters' Church, when the prizes won j bv the children were presented. Songs were rendered by Mrs W. Sharp, Mrs Clarke, Misses E. Shove and Thomas, and the Eev Fisher; recitations by Miss Wootten and Ruby F ay. Eev Fisher addressed the children and presented the prins to the following :- Ist. class girls, F. Thomas, F. Evans and A Thomas; Boys, D. Napier, W. Herd and E. Thomas 2nd class, Emily Evans, Jean Clark and Grey Clark. The annual general meeting oi the Opaheke Public Hall Company limited; was held on Saturday last, Mr H J. Flay presided over a fair attendance. The balance sheet showed a credit balance of £ls 16a 9d, and was adopted. The following Directors . were elected for the ensuing year : , Messrs H. J.
