Cycling.
Road Race. The fortnightly road race organised by the Matamata Cycling Club was run on Saturday from Matamata to Tirau and back. There were six starters, and a close finish resulted as follows : J. Dragovitch (lm 30s), 1 and fastest time; E. Moore (2m 10s), lh 9m 265, 2; J. Phelps (lm 30s), lh 8m 475, 3. The winner took lh 8m 455.
