FRANKTON. Decline in Prices. An exceptionally heavy yarding of cow beef and an average offering of ox beef met with a poor demand at the weekly stock sale at the Frankton yards on Tuesday, the prices in both classes showing a further decline on late rates. Poor competition was forthcoming for a smaller yarding of fat sheep, prices generally being lower. A fair demand existed for all classes of pigs, and values showed a slight increase. Cattle.— Light fat bullocks £9 10s to £9 16s. tat cows £7 to £7 16s. Medium £5 17s 6d to £6 15s. Light £4 15s to £5 10s. Forward cows £4 2s 6d to £4 12s 6d. Store cows £2 5s to £3 los. Yearling steers, mixed colours, £1 15s. Bulls £1 15s to £5 10s. Vealers £1 10s to £3. Sheep.— Fat ewes 8s to 11s 3d. Fat hoggets 15s 5d to 18s 3d. Fat lambs 13s lOd to 19s sd.

WAIHOU. Cattle Prices Easier. There was an average yarding of all classes of cattle at the Farmers’ Auctioneering Company’s Waihou sale on Friday. Bidding was not quite so brisk and prices were slightly easier. There was a full yarding of fat and store pigs, prices for baconers and porkers being easier, but the total yarding of 350 was sold under the hammer. Cattle.— Best fat cows £6 17s to £8 7s. Lighter fat cows £4 15s to £6. Forward-conditioned cows £3 15s to £4 11s. Fresh store cows £3 to £3 10s. Store cows £2 to £2 18s. Cows and calves £4 6s. Yearling heifers £2 17s. Potter bulls £3 10s to £6 ss.
Sheep.— Hoggets 16s to 225. Fat ewes 14s. Pigs.— Heavy and medium baconers £2 to £2 10s. Light baconers and heavy porkers £2 2s to £2 ss. Light porkers £1 16s to £2. Slips 30s to 355. Weaners 17s to 255. TIKAU. At the Farmers’ Auctioneering -Co.’s Tirau stock sale on Thursday, an average yarding of cattle was penned. Quotations. Cattle.— Forward conditioned cows, £4 5s to £5 2s. Light fat cows, £5 7s 6d to £6 15s. Store cows, £2 2s 6d to £3 7s 6d. 2-Year Polled Angus steers, £6 15s. Yearling Jersey and Jersey-cross heifers, £2 15s to £4. Others, £2. Heifers, close to profit, £3 15s to £4 15s.
Sheep.— Shorn store wethers, 2-tooth, 12s to 12s 6d. Pigs.— Porkers, £1 11s to £1 17s. Stores, £1 7s to £1 12s. Weaners, 15s to 18s. Sows and litters, £5 ss. MATAMATA. Dalgety and Co. held their usual stock sale at Matamata on Wednesday when there was a smaller yarding of cattle than usual. Pigs were yarded in average numbers. Prices were:— Beef.— Light fat steers, £8 16s. Fat cows, £5 17s to £7 ss. Light fat cows, £5 2s 6d to £5 15s. Unfinished cows, £4 5s to £4 Bs. Forward conditioned cows, £3 12s 6d to £3 17s 6d. Sheep.— Fat ewes, 15s. 2-Tooth ewes, small, 14s. MORRINSVILLE. Dalgety and Co. held their fortnightly sale at Morrinsville on Friday, when a small yarding sold as follow: Cattle.— Fat cows, £5 2s 6d to £6 7s. Fat heifers, £4 10s to £5 ss.
