HEADMASTER’S REPORT. Attendance Unsatisfactory. In a report submitted to the October meeting of the Putaruru District High School Committee the headmaster, Mir. R. G. Hutton, stated that the roll number of the primary department was 200, the average attendance being 177.7. The percentage of the average weekly roll number was 90.2, this equalling the lowest annual average in any school district. The secondary department roll "number was 38, the average attendance being 36.8, which equalled 90 per cent. In connection with the proceeds of forthcoming school concert the teachers suggested that a portion of the proceeds should be devoted to the purchase of pictures, for many of the w-alls were very bare. When in Putaruru the architect commented strongly on the insufficiency of lavatory accommodation. The report was adopted.
