ROADS AND BRIDGES. Matamata and Piako. The following amounts have been placed on the 1930-31 Public Works Estimates for construction and maintenance of roads and bridges:— Matamata County. Amoore’s road, £l5O. Bayly’s road, £350 (£1 for £1). Buckland road, £750 (£350 £1 for" £1; £4OO (£2 for £1). French Pass road, £4OO (£1 for £1). Head’s road, £2OO (£1 for £1). Lake road, £IOO (on account of £250, £1 for £1). Leslie’s road, £466 (£2 for £1). Lichfield to Putaruru, £BO (£1 for £1). Luck at Last road, £2lO (on account £6OO £1 for £1). Matai road, £IOO (on account of £6OO £1 for £1). Morgan’s road, £1066 (£2 for £1). Okoroire to Tapapa, £249 (on account of £IOSO, £1 for £1). Oraka bridge, Taumangi, £350 (£1 for £1). Puketurua to Ura Ura, £3544. Scherer’s road, £IOO (on account of £6OO £1 for £1). Stokes’ road, £350 (£1 for £1). Te Miro road, £4OO (£1 lor £1). Waiomou stream bridge (Smith’s), £69. Te Whetu road (Ngatira road), £3OO, on account £7OO (£1 for £1). Waotu to Puketurua, £IOOO (£2 for £1) (on account). Main Highways Fund. The following appropriations, which will later be apportioned by the District Council, have been made for main highways within its district:— Waitoa-Taupo (free £4000; £1 for £1 £1027), £5027; estimate to complete present proposals, £5772. Hamilton-Rotorua (free), £12,000; estimate to complete present proposals, £15,000. Kihikihi-Arapuni-Putaruru (£2 for £l, £362; £1 for £1 £662), £1024; estimate to complete present proposals, £1543.
