AN APPRECIATION.

IT is a general axiom that members of local bodies get more kicks than ha-pence, and the Putaruru Town Board members have proved this to be so. It is therefore but fitting that appreciative reference should be made to the services rendered to the town by Messrs. G. G. Griffiths and C. C. Neal, the two members of the present board who are not seeking re-election. Both of these gentlemen have given freely of their time and ability in the interests of the town, arid they have earned the thanks of citizens. We have in the past paid tribute to Mr. Griffiths, whose work in laying the foundations of town board administration cannot be too highly spoken of. Mr. Neal has also proved a conscientious member of the board, and the services of these gentlemen will be missed.
