RURAL CREDIT ASSOCIATION.

BRANCH AT MATAMATA. At a meeting of farmers, held in Matamata recently, it was decided to form a branch of the Rural Intermediate Credits’ Association for the Matamata district. Mr. H. Rollett presided over the meeting, which was called under the auspices of the New Zealand Co-operative Dairy Co., Ltd. Mr. Parlane, general manager of the Dairy Co., addressed the gathering, and explained what had been done by way of guaranteeing the loans of suppliers under the scheme. At the conclusion of the addresses a number of questions were asked and answered satisfactorily. It was then decided, on the motion of Messrs. Crowther and Moroney, that an association be formed in the Matamata district. Of the required number of shareholders, 15 signed up in the room, leaving five yet to be obtained. A provisional board of directors was elected, so that the association could be incoroprated immediately.
