THREAT TO KILL.

NATIVE BEFORE COURT. Bound Over to Keep Peace. A threat to kill his sister, aged nine, was admitted by Henry Meroiti, a Maori, when charged with the offence, before Mr. S. L. Paterson, S.M., at the Magistrate’s Court at Putaruru on Thursday. An application was also made to have accused bound over to keep the peace. Constable Murphy stated that the defendant had been recently sentenced to six months’ imprisonment for assaulting his father, mother and sister. He had just returned and had threatened to kill his sister, whom he was apparently infatuated with. He had "suffered from a fall from a horse some years ago, and had been in hospital as a result. Defendant admitted the allegations. He was bound over to keep the peace for twelve months and was ordered to find a surety for £IOO, having to remain in prison until the surety was found.
