THRUPP—VANDY. The wedding was celebrated at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Morrcnsville, oil v« eunesday, oi oiiss Vandy, eldest daughter ot Mr. and Mrs. Philip A. Vandy, of Waitetuna, Raglan, and Mr. William AuAm Thrupp, eldest son of Mr and Mrs. Thomas Thrupp, of '"tudholme street, Morrinsville. Tne Rev. Father Shore officiated. The bride, wlio was given away by her father, wore a frock of ivory georgette, trimmed with homton lace, w T ith tight-fitting bodice and skirt with uneven hemline drooping to the ankles and long georgette , sleeves. Her veil of embroidered tulle was heid in place with sprays of orange blossom, and she carried a bouquet of white roses, lilies and ( daffodils with sprays of white heath j and maiden hair fern. j The bridesmaid, Miss t Eileen Thrupp, only sister of the bride- | groom, wore a frock of biscuit col- ; oured silk marocain with uneven j hemline drooping at the sides, and J hat to tone. Her bouquet was o± pink roses and white narcissus with J maidenhair fern and white heath and , pink streamers to tone. Mr. Jack Vandy, of Kereone, . brother of the bride, was best man. W After the ceremony members of the families attended a wedding breakfast at the residence of the bridegroom’s parents in Studholme street. Mrs. Vandy, mother of the bride, was wearing a frock of navy J blue repp with hat to tone and furs, j The bridegroom’s mother, Mrs. T. Thrupp, wore a brown repp costume with furs and hat to tone. The newly-married ' couple left by car on their honeymoon, the bride wearing a brown repp costume with hat and furs to match. Their future home will he at Kiwitahi. WELLS—NEWBEGIN. A wedding of great interest to Te Puninga settlers took place at St. \ Matthew’s Church, Auckland, on -■“Wednesday, when Miss Marjorie Isobel Newbegin, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Newbegin, of Vauxhall road, Devonport, was married to Mr. E. E. Wells, of Te Puninga, Morrinsville, youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Wells, of Vancouver avenue, Sandringham. Rev. Grant Cowen officiated. The church was decorated with hydrangeas in their winter colouring and bowls of arum lilies. , The bride, who entered the church with her father, wore a frock of cream ring velvet with a tightIT fitting bodice and long sleeves cut. in points over the hands. The skirt, which was gathered to one side under a flat velvet bow, was ankle length at the back, and, dipping to the ground, was caught with a large brilliant ornament at the left hip. The veil of embroidered net was held in place with a cap of fine point lace,.and sprays of orange blossom were fastened at each side. Her bouquet was of white flowers. The matron of honour, Mrs. L. A. Wilson, sister of the bride, and the bridesmaid, Miss Lucy Saxton, of Te Puninga, were similarly frocked m apple-green georgette with short jackets of beige lace piped with green, and caught with posies of georgette flowers on the shoulder. Their beige felt hats were trimmed with corded ribbon, and a diamante clasp was worn in the front. Their bouquets were of shaded pink and lemon flowers respectively. Mr. lan Lewer, of Te Puninga, was best man, and Mr. Harold Newbegin was groomsman. After the ceremony a reception was held in the Domain Kiosk, where Mrs. Newbegin received her guests, wearing a frock of navy georgette and satin beaute, showing a gold and wine-shaded embroidered panel. Her hat was of Burgundy velour, and she also wore skunk furs, and a posy of carnations was carried. Mrs. Wells wore a black seal coat over a frock of navy crepe de chine, with black hat trimmed with autumn - shaded flowers. A bouquet in autumn shades was carried. DE LUEN—MONTGOMERIE. The marriage of Miss Zita Frances Montgomerie, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. Montgomerie, of Te Aroha, to Mr. John Wilkinson- de I Luen, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. H. de .Luen, of Mt. Eden, Auckland, was celebrated at St. David’s Church, Te Aroha, on Wednesday evening. The Rev. H. B. Hughes, M.A., 8.D., performed the ceremony. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a graceful gown of ivory silk net, over ivory satin, with hemline touching the ground and flounced to the waistline, the corsage being tight fitting. A horse shoe of tiny white rosebuds tipped with silver and silver leaves was fastened on one side under a flounce. Her veil was of handworked Brussels net, worn with cap effect, and caught each side with clusters of orange blossoms fastened at the back with a band of Rhine stones, and formed a long train, which was held in place k at the end with a horse shoe of tiny * white rosebuds tipped with silver and silver leaves. She carried a Victorian posy of white roses, snowdrops and maidenhair fern.
Miss Win. Banks (Matamata), the only bridesmaid, wore a dainty frock of turquoise blue taffeta and georgette, with tight-fitting corsage and bouffant skirt, falling to the ankles. Her light weight felt hat was of peach pink, turned up in front, and ; fastened at the side with a handmade satin spray of peach blossom tipped with silver. Pink satin shoes were worn to tone. She carried c. Victorian posy of pink carnations, daphne and maidenhair fern. The bridegroom was attended by Mr. G. Walsh as best man. Following the ceremony a reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents, “ Laurie Bank,” Ruakaka, Mrs. Montgomerie receivingher guests in a golden brown lace frock with furs and hat to tone. She carried a posy of calendula, French marigolds and maidenhair fern. Mrs. de Luen wore a black georgette frock embroidered in gold with black hat. She carried a posy of abutolen primroses and maidenhair fern. All the beautiful wedding decorations and the pretty posies were the artistic work of the Misses Tizard, and were gifts from them to the bride. Among the guests included: Mr. and Mrs. McGregor (Morrinsville), Mr. and Mrs. Willeox, Mr. and Mrs. Carroll, Mr. and Mrs. Hewitt (Hawera), Mr. and Mrs. Bisley (Hamilton), Miss Betty Gilchrist, Mr. and Mrs. W.
