KEYLESS CAR LOCK.
An ingenious keyless sterling lock invented by Mr. H. Roberts, of Melbourne, is one of the biggest contributions to thiefproofing a motor car evolved in recent years (according to an exchange).
The locjc is designed to fit beneath the base in the steering wheel, so it has been made with an eye for the appearance of the finished article. It is -highly finished in either nickel or lacquer and is by no means bulky or obtrusive when in position.
Four small lugs fitted to the steering column provide the combination stops, while another set of lugs, fixed beneath the wheel, lock the wheel when the device is moved up to engage with them. There are no tumblers in the lock, making it impossible to discover the combination by sense of touch or hearing.
It is possible by means of the four combination rings to set the .combination to more than 50,000 sets of figures, while the combination itself can be altered at will by the owner.
