Stock Sales.

CLEARING SALE. Mrs. R. Shaw. At the clearing sale on account of Mrs. R. Shaw, Walton, conducted by the Farmers’ Auctioneering Co. on Monday, the average for the 44 cows sold was £lO 10s. Prices were: Best Jersey and Jersey cross cows, early calvers, £l3 to £ls 10s. Shorthorn cows, July and August calvers, £lO 10s to £l2 10s. Friesian cows, £9 to £lO 10s. Backward sorts, £7 10s to £8 10s. Jersey heifers, in calf, £8 to £lO ss. Yearling heifers, £3 6s.

Mr. J. A. Garry. Good-quality Jersey cows met with a keen demand at a clearing sale conducted by the Farmers’ Auctioneering Company on behalf of Mr. J. A. Garry at Patetonga on Friday. The top price was £l7, and the 25 others ranged from £ll upward, the average being slightly over £l3. Store cows and cows in milk sold at from £6 to £B. A four-year-old gelding sold at £35 10s, and an aged farm horse at £lB.

Mr. C. E. Foote. At the clearing sale held on Wednesday on account of Mr. C. E. Foote, Te Aroha West, by the Farmers’Auctioneering Co., the herd of 55 cows were sold at satisfactory prices. Competition was keen throughout, the average being £ls 6s per head for cows, while 17 heifers averaged £l6 10s, and 14 yearling Jersey heifers £6 13s. Prices were: — Choice young Jersey cows, close to profit, £l9 to £26; due September, £l4 10s to £lB. Jersey and Jersey-cross cows, later calvers, £9 to £l4. Choice Jersey heifers, close to profit, £ls 10s to £2O. Choice Jersey heifer calves, £6 12s 6d to £7 2s 6d. Others, £3 5s to £5 ss. Three-year pedigree Jersey bulls, 30gns to 35gns. Two-year pedigree Jersey bulls, 18gns to 24gns. Yearling Jersey "bulls, 9gns. Active young farm horses, £3B to £4B. Lighter sorts, £24 to £25. . Sows in pig, £6 10s to £9.
