Putaruru. Mrs. W. Munroe and Miss Collis, of Cambridge, were visitors to Putaruru last week. Mrs. W. H. Swinnerton, of Auckland, was a visitor to Putaruru last week. She was the guest of Mr. and Mrs. K. Bicknell. Mrs. Yandle, who was on a visit to Auckland, returned last Saturday. Mrs. K. Bicknell is visiting Gisborne. She is the guest of her mother, Mrs. W. H. Harris. Mrs. W. Campbell, of Taumangi, spent a short holiday in Hamilton last week.

Mrs. Fisher, of Arapuni, was on a holiday visit to Rotorua last week. Mr. Gilmour and Mr. Ellery spent the week-end in Auckland. Mr. and Mrs. L. A. Bent, who have been on a holiday to Auckland, returned last week. Mr. and Mrs. J. Skow, of Auckland, spent the week-end with Mr. and Mrs. K. McDermott. Miss J. Ferguson, of Matamata, was a visitor to Putaruru last week.

Miss Allwood, nurse at the Whakatane hospital, is home on sick leave.

Mr. and Mrs. R. Davis, of Arapuni, are spending a month’s holiday in Christchurch and Timaru. They also intend visiting Mt. Cook. Mr., Mrs. and Miss Sneddon, of Putaruru, were in Rotorua on Wednesday, being present at the > marriage of Miss Hockly (daughter of Mr. F. F. Hockly, ex-M.P. for Rotorua), to Mr. Frank Grove.

Morrinsville. Dr. Walls is on a visit to Morrinsville to his daughter, Mrs. A. Bernstein. Miss Summerhayes, of Auckland, is staying with her sister, Mrs. F. Hawkins, Studholme street. Mrs. S. C. Parlour motored to Auckland last week with her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. R. Atkinson. Miss E. Hammond spent the weekend with her parents at Bruntwood. Mr. and Mrs. D. Pirrit, of Lake Waikare, were on a short visit to Morrinsville last week. ' Mr. and Mrs. F. E. Harris, of« Kiwitahi road, have motored to Palmerston North for a holiday. Mrs. S. Osborne and daughter, of Auckland, are staying with Mrs. F. H. Brightwell, Mangateparu. Miss Mary Parlour has returned from a short holiday at Thames. Mr. and Mrs. L. Day, of George street, leave to-day for Te Awamutu, where Mr. Day will take up farming.
