SALE OF OUTSTANDING JERSEY COWS AND HEIFERS. WEDNESDAY, JUNE 18, NOON. Favoured with instructions from MESSRS. P. B. and F. HOLMES, PUKEATUA. we will offer in conjunction with Messrs. Dalgety and Company on the Farm, ’ situated on the main Te Awamutu-Arapuni Highway, their Extra-choiee> Herd, comprising— -100 Choice High-grade Tested Jersey Cows 30 High - grade Jersey Heifers, in calf to Holly Oak Ruler, and a son of Holly Oak Ruler, who is a grandson of Grannies Knight, C. 8.8.

NOTE. —We have inspected this herd, and find that the majority are young, big - bodied, good - uddered cows in good condition. This herd has been heavily culled each year, and the replacement cows were selected by the vendors, with great care in the Waikato Taranaki districts, no expense being spared, as only cows and heifers of exceptional quality and butterfat backing were purchased. They are due to calve in July and August to the two outstanding bulls, Holly Oak Gems Knight, a son of Grannies Knight, C. 8.8., and Hua Brooks Prosperity, a grandson of Holly Bank Squire, C. 8.8. These cows have put up great records. Seven averaged 4001 b fat, 20 averaged 3501 b fat, 30 averaged 3351 b fat, all the mature cows averaged 3021 b fat this season, pasturing on a bush clearing in a cold climate, and should do exceptionally well when taken on to better pastures in Waikato. Anyone requiring cows to increase the production of his herd should attend this sale. Individual records and calving dates, which will be guaranteed, will be given at the sale.
