MANURES FOR S. AUCKLAND.
TONNAGE FOR YEAR. Outstanding Local Figures. The quantities of fertilisers carried by rail, which is the transport medium for fertilisers, for the year ended March 31, 1930, are given below. It will be noticed that Matamata again takes precedence over all other centres, while Putaruru and Morrinsville are well to the fore. It is estimated that a considerable portion of the amount credited to Waitoa is used in what may be termed the Morrinsville district. The figures are interesting in that they reveal the relative progressiveness of farming operations in the several districts. Details are:— Tons.
