STARTER BACKFIRE.
sometimes happens when the starter button is depressed that the starter will engage and rotate the engine for perhaps half a turn and then come to a stop, although perhaps both starter and battery may be well up to their work, and a second depression of the button will produce the desired effect. If this is so it usually means that the ignition is. jtoo far advanced, a miniature fcd|£kfire being the cause of the engine ceasing to turn. The cure, of course, is to retard thq, ignition slightly.
