A. Connolly, who was leaving that day to occupy a position at Whakatane. In presenting 'Mr. Connolly, on behalf of the staff, with a leather travelling bag, the branch manager, Mr. P. Mr. Connolly had been a member of the staff for 2i years, during which time he had displayed keenness and ability and the aptitude for getting along well with his fellow employees and the general public. The speaker wished him every success in his new sphere of activity. Mr. Connolly suitably replied, expressing gratitude for the kindness shown to him and regret at severing his association with such good friends.
