PUTARURU CLUB. The following are the results of games, played under the auspices of the Putaruru club:— Handicap Singles. Hamilton 19, W. King 18 ; Hastie 29, Campbell 23 ; Hamilton 30, McDermott 22 ; W. King 21, Murphy 18. Novice Handicap Singles. Hiller 34, Smith 24 ; McKenzie 18, Berry 15 ; Berry 25, Pass 22 ; Pass 34, Campbell 27. Handicap Pairs.—Palmer and Rolfe 31, Leggatt and Weir 29. AUCKLAND VISITORS. A rink of Ponsonby (Auckland) bowlers were in Putaruru during tne week-end, and they found time to visit the Putaruru green and indulge in a game. They were Letham, jun., Aitchyson, Drury and Letham, sen. (s), and they met W. Yandle, Francis, King and A. G. Leggatt (s). Each rink scored 13 points in a fourteen head game. MATAMATA TOURNAMENT. The annual tournament promoted by the Matamata Bowling Club opened in glorious weather on Thursday, when teams were present from Auckland, Ponsonby, Tauranga South, Mt. Eden, Carlton, Okoroire, Otahuhu and Matamata clubs. The green was in excellent condition, being very fast and true and earned high praise from visiting bowlers. The entries were somewhat disappointing so far as Waikato clubs were .concerned, but it is noticeable that Auckland clubs are consistent in their support, the Matamata tournament evidently being welcomed as a try-out before the Rotorua fixture. This year there were three rinks less than last year’s tournament. Results of the section play were as follows: Section 1. First Round.—Young,' Buckley, E. C. Banks, Oates (s) (Matamata) 18 v. Stewart (Matamata) 17. Fraser (Mt.' Eden) 26 v. White (Tauranga South) 16. Third round. —Walker (Auckland) 23 v. White (Tauranga South) 18. Fraser (Mt. Eden) 19 v. Oates (Matamata) 17. Stewart (Matamata) 22 v. Letham (Ponsonby) 19. Fourth round..—Walker 21 v. Stewart 20. Oates 26 v. White 23. Fraser 25 v. Letham 15. Fifth Round.—Fraser 23 v. Walker 20. Oates 25 v. Letham 18. Stewart 23 v. White 22. At the conclusion of section play Oates and Fraser tied' with 4 wins and 1 loss each, and qualified for the post-section play. Section 2. Sneddon (Carlton) 24 v. Egan (Matamata) 13. . Harper won from Legg&tt by deI fault. Third Round.—Livingstone 18 v. I Harper 15. I Egan 33 v. Brown 15. Sneddon won by default.

i Fourth Round.—Livingstone 22 v. j Egan 11. [ Sneddon 33 v. Harper 15. Leggatt forfeited to Brown. | Fifth Round.—Livingstone won from Leggatt by defalt. Sneddon 32 v. Brown 14. Harper 23 v. Egan 20. Sneddon won section 2 with 5 wins and no losses. Livingstone was run-ne.r-up with four wins and one loss, and also qualified for the post-sec-tion play. Post Section Play. In the post-section play, Oates, after being down IS—5 against Fraser (Mt. Eden) on Friday night, recovered on Saturday and got home by 23—21. Livingstone beat Sneddon, who had not previously had a loss, by 23—15. The Final. The final was played between Oates and Livingstone on Saturday afternoon, the latter winning by 23
