Putaruru. Mi s. Mullane leaves on a holiday visit to Auckland this week. Mrs. W. Pass, who has been on a visit to Sydney, returned last week. Miss Gwen Ashford, of Matamata, is staying with Mrs. Howland. Miss Alcorn has been on a holiday visit to Kawau. Mrs. and Miss Barnett spent a few days in Auckland last week. Mrs. R. T. Smith and family returned this week from the Mount, Tauranga, where they spent the Christmas holidays. Mrs. C. Alcorn and her two sons have gone to Auckland for a holiday. The friends of Mrs. R. Martin will be pleased to hear that she is home

from the hospital, quite recovered. , Mrs. W. H. Crabb, who has been j spending a holiday at the Mount, Tauranga, returned home this week, j Mr. and Mrs. E. F. Halse and fam- ! ily spent a few days in Auckland last week. Mr. and Mrs. R. Malcolm, of Timaru, who have been visiting Mr. and Mrs. J. Francis, left for their home on Wednesday. Mrs. Mijo Katavich and her little twin daughters are on a visit to Mrs. Robert McCracken, “ The Club Run,” Lichfield. Mr. and Mrs. Gasparich and their daughter are on a visit to Putaruru, being the guests of Mr. and Mrs. S. J. Parker. Inspector Cummings, of Napier, spent a few days’ holiday in Putaruru last week. Mrs. Rolfe and sons arrived home on Tuesday after a holiday spent in Wellington and Carterton. Mr. and Mrs. S. G. Barnett, of “ Narbethong,” Tirau, spent a few days at Kawhia last week. The many friends of Mrs. C. E. Hollard, of Selwyn, will regret to learn of the death of her mother, Mrs. J. Knight, which occurred last Saturday at Lower Hutt. Matamata. Mrs. Malligan is at present on holiday in Auckland. Mr. and Mrs. Hugh De Laney, of Matamata, are away on a motor tour. Mr. and Mrs. J. Howard, of Onehunga, are the guests of Mr. and Mrs. A. V. Hill, of Vosper street. Mr. and Mrs. A. Stewart left Matamata oh Saturday on a visit to Auckland. Miss Miller, of Auckland, who has been on a visit to Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Watt, of Okaoia, has returned to her home. Mr. F. Watt, junior, who has been spending the holidays with his parents at Okauia, has left for Sockbum, Christchurch. Miss R. Hill, who has been spending a fortnight’s holiday at Puru, Thames, has returned to Matamata. Morrinsville. Mrs. . A. Grigg, of Studholme street, is on a visit to Auckland. Miss M. Moore has returned from a holiday at Nelson. Mrs. Hines spent the week-end at Raglan. Miss Stanfield, of Te Kuiti, is staying with Mrs. F. Brightwell, Mangateparu. Mr. and Mrs. Ennis, accompanied by Miss Meek dnd Miss Arndt, motored to Tauranga for the weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Austen Turner have returned from a visit to Tauranga and have taken up their residence at Kurunui, Morrinsville.
