Matamata. Miss Kilbride has left Matamata for Southbridge, Canterbury, where; she will spend a holiday. Sergeant Mathieson, previously in charge of the Matamata district, but now of Hamilton, visited Matamata on Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. H. E. Schofield will spend the first week of the Christ- | mas holidays at Tauranga, and, after I the second week spent in Auckland, I will return to Matamata, where they , will take up residence in their new quarters.

Morrinsville. Miss Kathleen Smith has returned from a holiday spent in Auckland. Mrs. J. R. Wilson left Morrinsville this week on a visit to Nelson. Mrs. J. H. Wyatt is paying a short visit to Auckland. Mr. and Mrs. A. H. Gant leave today for Timaru, where they will spend the holidays. Miss Williatns. of Takapuna, was on a short visit to Morrinsville this week. Mrs. L. Echlin and children and Mrs. Clark left Morrinsville on Wednesday on a visit to Christchurch, Oamaru and Hokitika. Mr. C. H. McKay, accompanied by his daughter Lalli, left on Wednesday night on a visit to Invercargill. Miss Eunice Allman is spending the Christmas' vacation at her home in Auckland. Miss Robins, of Te Puke, is staying with Mrs. S. H. Wilding, Mangateparu. Miss Elsa Bradley left last evening for Wellington, where she will spend a month’s holiday. Mr. and Mrs. E. C. Innes have returned from a short visit to Auckland.

Mrs. Thorne, of Bayswater, Auckland, has been on a visit to Mrs. C. M. Gummer. Mr. and Mrs. C. Leggett, of Motumaoho, have motored to Auckland on a short visit. Mrs. Cain, of Oamaru, paid a short visit to Mrs., C. M. Gpmmer before leaving for Katikati and Tauranga. Miss Leggett, of Motumaoho, has left to take up nursing at a hospital in Auckland. Mr. and Mrs. A. Needham and family leave on Saturday for Thornton’s Bay, Thames coast, where they will spend the holidays. Miss Ida Campbell returned to Morrinsville yesterday to spend the school holidays with Mr. and Mrs. Ken. Campbell, Hangawera road. Miss Campbell won the girls’ athletic championship prize at the Takapuna Grammar School.
