PUTARURU SALE. At the Farmers’ Auctioneering Company’s sale at Putaruru on Friday there was only a very moderate attendance, due to the fact that haymaking operations were in full swing. Prices were on a par with recent sales. Kgs.— Good 32s 6d to 375. Weaners 15s to 18s. Sheep.— Wethers 23s 7d. Cattle. — Cows and calves £3 12s 6d. Fat heifers £6 17s 6d. Fat cows £6 16s to £8 ss. Dairy heifers £6 10s. Calves 31s. Heifers £6 10s to £8 6s. Cows in forward condition £5 9s to £6 18s. MATAMATA. At Dalgety and Co.’s, fortnightly poor competition. Prices were as stock sale at Matamata on Wednesday, a good yarding of fat cows and a small one of stores- came forward,
and met with good competition from a full bench of buyers. Small yardings of all classes of pigs met with follows: — Cattle.— Good fat cows, £lO to £ll 7s. Eight fat cows, £8 17s 6d to £9 15s. Ordinary fat cows, £6 17s to £7 17s 6d. Prime fat heifers, £lO 10s to £ll. light fat heifers, £8 8s to £9 17s 6d. Fat Jersey heifers, £5 10s to £6 17s 6d. Good fresh conditioned cows, £5 8s 6d to £5 16s. calves, £7 7s 6d to £8 7s. Jersey ">nd Jersey-cross heifers, r.w.h,, £7 7s. • Others, £5 7s 6d to £6 10s. • Dairy cows, £8 ss. Good weaners, 22s to 28s. Pigs.— Best weaners, 30s to 36s 6d.
