Arapuni.

Ch/ristmas Treat. No child in Arapuni is likely to forget Christmas of 1929, for the ladies of that township gave them a royal entertainment last week, over 250 children .crowded into Darley’s hall and from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. a succession of entertainments followed. First came the tea, and it was such that gave delight to every one present. Following on the ample spread a concert was given by the children, and a first-class entertainment was provided, the culminating effort being a gorgeous tableaux, “ The Wedding of the Painted Doll.” The concert spoke volumes for the natuiai ability of the young entertainers and their trainers. Father Christmas made his appearance after the concert, and from a generously laden Christinas tree gave each child a gift. The children were then entertained at a picture entertainment, and everyone left the hall feeling that Christmas had been right rovaiiy celebrated.
